No Tuesday concerts canceled because of snow
No shows have been canceled Tuesday night because of last night's snowfall.
Mueran Humanos will still perform at Golden West Cafe. The show starts at 10 p.m.
Wham City's all-female comedy night at the Zodiac is also on. Host Ben O'Brien wrote attendees via Facebook, "Snow didn't stop Bruce Willis from lighting a trail of gasoline on fire and blowing up that [doggone] plane in Die Hard 2, and it's not gonna stop us from lighting a trail of laughs on fire and blowing up your [earmuffs!] minds!" Yippee-Ka-yada-yada.
Power Plant Live will run business as usual, says spokesman Chris Furst.
At Goucher College, Clay Aiken is still scheduled to perform at 7:30 p.m., though the promo mug shot for the gig is doing it's best to keep people away.

Comments
Erik........Who are you to say such a dreadful thing about Clay Aiken.......You better look in the mirror.
If you are reporter, then you report the news. If you are a commentator you can put your opinion on something.
This was very poor taste and I wonder if your boss saw this comment.
It is too bad that a 3 year old picture is used, however, you have no right to say what you did.

If it's not Dan Deacon-esque faux brilliant hipster crap, Erik wants nothing to do with it. Don't take it personally...
Insulting the readers now, Maza? CLASSY!

i don't see how the pic is any worse than the one on the side of this blog.

Wow you all are harsh. You bitch that he insulted someone yet you turn around and insult him. Idiots.

oh please, commenters! erik made a joke about that photo. it's not a very good one, come on! he wasn't 'insulting the readers' , he was being playful. why does some loser who feels left out always have to bring up the word 'hipster'? you think that's a good photo of clay? it isn't. lots better photos of him exist. someone was lazy or had bad taste when they selected the one mr. maza laughed at . that's all.

also, the difference between a celebrity using a terrible picture for publicity, and a normal person posting a bad photo of themselves is...normal people don't usually have tons and tons and tons of professional photos from which to choose, when they're looking to post one.
this guy does, and he pays people to represent him well. obviously he doesn't pay them enough!

We're reduced to defending Clay Aiken - oh how far the Midnight Sun has fallen.
Posted by: Foo | February 22, 2011 3:23 PM
I think people are just cranky that they didn't get a snow day.

Thanks for reporting that Clay will be performing in your town. Being a Claymate does not give me the right to insult you the reporter, or any other respondent to this article. I've been a Claymate for more than 8 years and used to be guilty of defending him until I realized the damage it can create to his popularity/ image. Let alone the image of his fans.
I appreciate the concert mention, and Clay doesn't need defending constantly. I thought some Claymates would know that by now all it does is put a bad taste in the mouths of reporters.
This constant defending and bashing the messenger is childish.
Let's just listen to the man sing, and if he feels he needs defending, he has the maturity to handle it in his way.

Erik is right on with the Clay Aiken pic.
But whoa...we have something new to be concerned about: The term "Claymate."
Really?!?

"the term claymates isn't a new one, like, duhhh, dude"

He's right, that term has sucked for quite a while now.

Wow, what a gorgeous pic of Clay. I always thought he was a very good looking man. And talented too. I heard it was a full house tonight. And the show was very well received. Clay never disappoints. He's still the one.

I didn't think the picture was that bad. I have seen better. This was a fantastic concert however, very entertaining and Clay's voice was fantastic. The crowd was very appreciative.

When I worked at the Sun one of the managers had a "Claymate" license plate and that was around 2005

Bye, bye erik. Learn how to write, before you put your name on an article.

Does anyone else find it amusing that shirley writes a post that is gramatically inaccurate telling erik to learn how to write?
