Reader's Choice: Looney's, Della Roses's among best Baltimore Ravens bars
Before the home opener against the Browns this weekend, Midnight Sun picked the best bars to watch the Ravens. Of course, this is a topic where everyone has their own opinions.
So, last week, readers joined the debate with their choices for the best Ravens bars.
While the original list included Mother's, Pickles Pub, Greene Turtle in Columbia, Padonia Station, and Baltimore Gameday Warehouse, there was no clear stand-out among readers.
Clearly, there's no lack of sports bars in the area. Readers came up with 20 different names. And they're not just in the city. The bars also come from White Marsh and Columbia.
The names that got multiple mentions are Della Rose's Avenue Tavern in White Marsh, and Looney's, which has several locations in the area.
Though Della Rose's is now in White Marsh, it's been around since 1944. It was one of the first bars to serve pizza in the area.
City Limits, Muggsy's, Turp's, and the Stalking Horse, were among some of the other names that were name-checked.
All of the reader's choices are in the comments of the original blog post.

I like Muggsy's, but last I checked it's closed on Sundays. That should probably disqualify it from this discussion.

The absolute worst place to see a Raven's game, or any game, is Mahaffey's in Canton. They have no HD TVs and one of the TVs has a huge stain on the screen from...? Mahaffey ought to break open his piggy bank or stop wondering why the place is a ghost town on Sunday afternoons.

that stain on the tv is too funny- and why is it always on Telemundo???

I think Muggsys has one of those grandfathered in liquor licenses so they can only be open a few Sundays a year. Still, Monday Night Football is good to watch there

There's also a Della Rose's in Canton that is awesome for games. When it's nice out, they put the Ravens game on a huge blow-up screen on the patio. Great bucket and bomb specials too.
