Rams Head Live, music connoisseurs, misspell headliner Dan Deacon's name in show flier

dan%20deacon.jpgElectronic musician Dan Deacon is headlining a show at Rams Head Live Sept. 29

Rams Head is a strange venue for Deacon. They're not exactly known for their eclectic taste; already has-been Jason Derulo will be playing there just two days later.

But it's a gateway to a wider audience for the schlubby heartthrob outside the patchouli-scented crowds at Wham City.

In any case, The Get Em Mamis are opening for him, and that is too tantalizing a twofer to pass up.

Clearly, this is something his hosts are excited about. So excited, in fact, they misspelled his name on the upcoming show's flier.

Yes, on Sept. 29, a Dan Decon will play Rams Head.

Credit where credit is due though; it could have been a lot worse. Rams Head could have advertised a Dan Deakonz or a Dave Dinkins as their 9/29 headliner.

JAAAAAAYSON DERUUUULLLOOOO

I cannot read his name without hearing that in my head.

I know I shouldn't admit to my questionable music tastes in this uberserious music forum, but I love Jayson Derulo. Haters can hate, but I enjoy it, haha.

Happy Friday everyone!!

Really, Rams Head isn't known for eclectic tastes? Why? Because they dont host wacky expiermental bands that only bring in 100 people? Rams Head is a venue for national acts, and they do bring in a pretty good variety of them. Rams Head live isn't ottobar.

Dave Dinkins has a pretty good sound, but he's no John Lindsay.

It is interesting that Maza is writing an article criticizing someone for misspelling when many of his own articles have been plagued by erroneous information. What is that saying about glass houses?

Then again Manuel, he is writing a blog that provides a service to the community. Not f-ing up promotions while trying to make money off of an event.

Anonymous stop posting, you're bringing absolutely nothing to the table

1) Do you really want to criticize somebody else's grammatical error? Probably not the best move after seeing the first few weeks of posts.

2) Nikc. Interesting point. I guess the BaltimoreSun isn't trying to increase readership and ad revenue through this blog. With that in mind, this whole blog makes a lot more sense....

3) Waahnanymous. I am so tired of people blaming the commentors for the horrendous posts on here. Did the baltimore commentors all of the sudden became way more rude or has the content on this blog changed so much that it drives people to take time out of there life to share there discord. The Midnight Sun (and Baltimore Sun) would be wise to listen to the readers while they still have them.

Is this news?

@Waaahnanymous

What is Erik with a K bringing to the table exactly with this post? That Rams Head Live! has a typo on a promo poster? That's worthy of an entire post? That is bringing something to the table on a Baltimore Sun blog? Have you read a print paper recently, those things are FILLED with errors.

Of course if Erik has been brought on to create friction and boost comments, he is certainly doing his job. If he has been asked to provide worthwhile content, relevant to the Nightlife scene of Baltimore, well...we all seem to have our own opinions on that one.

@jdc: I know what you mean, I get so flippin angry at internet too! UNFAIR! INTERNET!

yawwn...come back when you have a real story, Maza...

uhh...what?

nikc: Nice. The art of confusion as a comeback. You had an odd comment that didn't make sense. Own up to it. Don't get mad at me.

I think it's a tactical move on the part of Ram's Head. I might actually pay to see Dan Decon. I'd definitely pay to see Dave Dinkins. That guy rocks!

dave dinkins is a very talented young man

Good point, Ry! Dan Deacon sucks a todlers undecended nut(oops, don't be jealous, Maza). But this Decon guy sounds awesome! Yay for journalists!

Will DJ Cat Dick be there? Please say so!

it's actually a great lineup - wolf eyes!!

rams head has all sorts of bands, however it is my least favorite place to see them. the sound is usually not great - I think some of it gets lost in the balcony and bar sections. I have heard a rumor that they are moving to where ESPNZone used to be.

I would check this out, but I'm heading down to the Black Cat that day to see The Swans. Can't wait.

Another "indier than thou" post...Lame.. dan deacon would be ashamed

Another "indier than thou" post...Lame.. dan deacon would be ashamed

Get off Erik's sack. Sessa posted a review of a gd bottle opener. Midnight Sun has had stupid, pointless posts forever.

At least this was somewhat relevant to Baltimore.

Way to bury the lead, Erik.

That poster also says the Gaslight Anthem and Fake Problems are playing on the 28th. That's bound to be one of the best shows of the year. You should write about that.

I don't know who this Dan Deacon fellow is, but I bet you Dave Dinkins wouldn't be ashamed! He'd be all jumping around in a leotard and beat boxing and drinking bathtub gin and cool stuff like that.

If Maza ever attended a Wham City show he would know that they like anything BUT pechouli...srsly dude. Thats a tired cliche.
