City Paper's Cosmic Cocktail party is coming up
I've never been to City Paper's yearly Cosmic Cocktail Party, but I've heard cool things about it.
This year's shindig is 7 p.m.-10 p.m. March 4 at the American Visionary Art Museum, and features food and beverages from more than 25 local restaurants and bars. There's also live music by DJs Rob Cee and Who. All-inclusive tickets are $50. Call 410-523-2300 for more info.
And no, I'm not just repping this event 'cause Midnight Sun won Best Blog in City Paper's reader's poll. In truth, I don't think City Paper's writers like me much (which is probably why I never actually got the award), but their ad crew puts on some killer events.
Definitely dig the Cosmic Cocktail Party. You won't regret it.

I guess they have to charge their readers $50 to get drunk since the size of the paper keeps getting smaller and smaller. They gotta make money somehow.
Have you noticed how slim City Paper is now? They can't even sell the back cover on a regular basis. And it's so painful to read. All they ever do is complain complain complain.

Follow up with them, dood. It took me several months to actually get my "BOB" Award, in frame suitable for hanging, for "Best Drinking Blog". Or maybe they only give out those certificates for their selections, not the readers' choice.

I think they're just peeved because none of their own blogs won Best Blog. Zink!

Yep, we won one for the Charm City Art Space a few years ago. You have to actually call them up and arrange to get your award. You also need to talk yourself into the Bob party, which we didn't figure out until after the fact.

I think I got mine at the BOB party. "Best Entertainment Mafia" not exactly resume worthy. Not only is the paper getting small some sections use like 4 point font. I miss sitting in a bar on Wednesdays and reading CP.

Huh? Why don't the writers like you??

Because they think he's "corporate", Nakiya, because he works for the Sun. Don't mind that CP Publisher Don Farley has like 10 homes and a private helicopter. But he's hip, so corporate doesn't apply to him.

What I find most funny, is how many former SUN employees were at the Towson Job Fair looking for work at the City Paper. I feel really bad for them. It's nice to see CP growing though, and expanding their product line. I think the city needs a good, solid publication it can count on. I wonder if the CP Publisher would consider giving rides in his helicopter to supplement the paper's income. I forgot...was it 10 helicopters, or 10 houses?

Damn. It's more like 12 houses, a horse farm, private jet and all the cake I can eat. Damn guys...why so angry?

Sam...I'm sensing some yearning...some hidden underlying feelings of being left out. I can't use my tickets for Cosmic, so e-mail me at the paper if you want them. I'll be happy to donate to a charitable cause...all in the name of brotha-ly love! Hope to see you there. We love guys in T-shirts!

OMG, I gotta meet this guy. Anyone know his name?

Listen up Ya'll,
CP refuses to sit back and recline with the decline... so don't expect us to disappear
My thoughts? In stead of ragging on us as a medium, why not concentrate on getting your own helicopter one day...
Oh, and our parties ROCK
