Ed needs our help
Midnight Sun reader Ed sent me an e-mail begging us for advice. He's celebrating his birthday Saturday, and he wanted to go on a tour of the Clipper City Brewery, but it's all booked up.
He writes:
Our nights out usually include hitting up area bars, making new friends, and gradually taking over places with a lethal combination of charm, good looks, loud conversation, and consumption.
What should Ed and his part of about 10 do? Where should they go?
My first suggestion doesn't involve drinking, but it is rather awesome, if I may say so myself ...
And, in keeping with the "activities" theme, I will also nominate paintball. A friend of mine had a bachelor party activity at this paintball spot, and it was a blast. That's more of a guy thing than a gal thing though, Ed.
As for drinking? Well, let me see here.
There's always country line dancing at the Cancun Cantina. Yee-haw, Ed! Or you could go on a Fells Point Ghost Tour, which, I hear, are pretty cool. After the tour, you could stop into one of the many appetizing ale houses in the neighborhood. It also might be fun to go on the Fort Avenue Bar Crawl.
That's all I can think of for the moment.
Anybody else got some suggestions?

Rent out the top floor of Patterson Bowl for some drunken duckpin. Bring your own keg!

though not original I do have a more direct solution.
I actually have a scheduled brewery tour with Clipper City this Saturday at 2:30pm for two but :
A. If it is really his birthday
B. His name is really Ed.
I would be happy to give up my spots for a fellow Ed. We do have to look after each other you know.
Course can't do much else for the other party of 8 he's got but the offer is open.
just have him or you email me at the email attached.

Sam, I can set him up if he wants to do a Forr Avenue Bar Crawl and since he is a fellow Aquarian, havw him call me after 2pm, I am still getting over my birthday hangover. I will take care of Ed and fellow Midnight Sunner.

Sam, thank you for reminding me about the laser tag warehouse. That's perfect timing too, with Valentine's Day right around the corner. I guess I'm canceling my reservations at Medieval Times...

Hey Ed & Sam -
Sorry you couldn't get in to the tour. Do the month long celebration thing and visit us another weekend. In Feb we will be hosting 3 tours a day so everyone can celebrate with us.
Happy Birthday from the crew!

Wow! Thanks for all the great suggestions fellow Sunners! The last time I played Laser Tag, I had the high score and promptly gave my retirement speech, leaving on top. So that’s out. The new plan for the celebration includes a Lexington Market Feast, an idea I borrowed from a commenter on D@L. Then we’re heading over to a bar in Fells that’s throwing a fund raiser for Haiti. Drinking for a good cause. Playing it by ear after that. I will definitely hit up the brewery in the near future and find some reason to host an event at Patterson Bowl. Thanks again!
And no, Ed isn’t really my name. The Sun, and any other random site that demands an email address, gets my addy specifically set up for possible spamming. Cheers!
