Does it count if your plans went from "sitting alone at home quietly" to watching the game?

My wife and I were going to a friend's house for a kind of small "dinner party." When the game time flashed up on the screen after it was fairly obvious the Ravens were going to beat the Pats, my blood ran cold. We asked the hostess if she could - perhaps - move up the time a wee bit so I could leave and be my fanatical self without embarrassing anyone (namely my wife.) Happily, the hostess was cool with it all. However, it should be noted - my wife is a food blogger; she's been understanding and all, but asking her if we could ask the hostess to re-arrange dinner plans.... Not something I want to do again real soon. Unless we win Saturday.

Original plan was to go to Luckies which is hosting a country concert for charity. Nix on that now. My wife and I will be heading to my best friend and his wife's for dinner and the game.

Months ago, my wife bought tickets to Young Frankenstein at the Hippodrome, assuming there would be no sports-related conflicts. Oops!
Luckily, since we have been married less than a year, and she is actually a football fan, there was no awkward moment when I brought it up. She willingly agreed to call the theater and ask them to switch to another day...which they did. Problem solved!
