The ultimate comfort cocktail?
It could be the comfort cocktail to end all comfort cocktails.
This weekend, Owl Meat sent me a link to the recipe for the Bloody Bacon & Cheese. It's made with grilled cheese, bacon, tomato soup, garlic salt, ground pepper and sun dried tomato-infused vodka. I knew vodka comes in a trillion different flavors these days, but sun dried tomato-infused? Really?
Here's a video where two mixologists guide you through the recipe. I love how the grilled cheese is actually used as a garnish. Evan, can you make this and report back to us? You are Midnight Sun's resident mixologist, after all ...

I've been The Baltimore Sun's nightlife and local entertainment reporter for a couple years, and it's surprising how much the scene has grown in that time. Most of Baltimore's bars and clubs are unpretentious places with fairly cheap drinks and plenty of character. I like dancing and think this city needs more clubs, but nothing beats having a cold, locally brewed beer with friends in a comfortably full corner bar.

Wow, I thought I hallucinated that.
Unrelated item: Thank you to my secret friend who sent me (via Sam) the Red Owl Meat Guide cook book for chuck roast (1975 price 29¢).
It still has a coupon for 20¢ off Occident flour which expired in 1976.
Many overly vibrant color photos of meat, meat and more meat. Food photography sure has come a long way since then. It looks like CSI Chuck Roast.
So many questions, no answers. Thank you?

It's a whole booklet of many vintage chuck roast recipes from the exotic 1970s. I'm saving the recipes for my next key party
