The best Halloween costume of the year?

yip yip aliensBwaaaaahahahahah!

For Halloween this year, ryan97ou and a couple of his buddies went as the Yip Yip Aliens (from "Sesame Street").

This is quite possibly the best possible Halloween costume of the year.

Unsurprisingly, they had their photo taken hundreds of times, ryan97ou said. Next year, he wants to organize an army of Yip Yips -- not necessarily for Halloween. Just for kicks.

Should this idea get the Midnight Sun stamp of approval? Yip yip yip yipyipyipyipyipyipyip!

Also, bonus points if you guess what Midnight Sunner HottieMcSexyPants went as ...

My friend Casey and three of his friends went as the Ghostbuster guys. That was pretty awesome.

My buddy went as the Shamwow! guy, while his girlfriend went as the hooker who tried to bight his tongue off. They both had blood smeared all over their faces. He actually brought a Shamwow towel and got the call whenever beer was spilled - then gave a demonstration of it's qualities. He also had a SlapChop and made some salsa on the spot.

I saw some guys in Fells Point that were Natty Boh Busters. Basically Ghostbusters whose backpacks/guns were functioning beer bongs......pretty awesome.

I was a pretty big fan of the Lego guys.

About 14 of my friends plus myself went as plastic toy soldiers from Toy Story complete with all the different poses. Minesweeper, radio, bazooka, etc. We marched and posed around fells point and everyone was cheering and taking pictures with us. Any chance I can send you a photo?

those costumes all sound ridiculous.

i'm serious about the yip crawl though. those costumes take like a half hour to make and imagine walking into an unsuspecting bar with 30 people dressed as that. too funny. stay tune for details if you're down.

while we certainly weren't trying for "best" anything, I appreciate the complement sessa.

we were really just trying for something funny, and mission accomplished. i think we were laughing underneath our sheets all night.

Ryan- you are genius!!! I love the yip yippers. I tried to get my boyfriend to go as oscar the grouch and I would be slimy the worm...but we ended up being fruit!

So...was there any yip yip yiffing?

actually elizabeth, i can't really take the credit as we saw a couple guys dressed as that last year in fells, and my other friend brent was the one who pulled the trigger to do it for this year.

another group i know went as this muppet band.

@CT You guys were awesome! Definitely turning heads the whole time I was down there...

I got a photo with you guys but it didn't turn out as well as I would've liked it

About Sam Sessa
I've been The Baltimore Sun's nightlife and local entertainment reporter for a couple years, and it's surprising how much the scene has grown in that time. Most of Baltimore's bars and clubs are unpretentious places with fairly cheap drinks and plenty of character. I like dancing and think this city needs more clubs, but nothing beats having a cold, locally brewed beer with friends in a comfortably full corner bar.
