What the hell? How can you compare?

Hey now! This is Reality Check territory! Page view thievery! Shenanigans! Exclamation point! Exclamation point!
Posted by: SarahKK | November 24, 2009 4:45 PM
Well, let's see, both were on American Idol. Both have great voices. One is named Chris, one has a friend named Kris. One can write great songs and has had a #1 hit for a major country group. One, well, his album is selling for 99 cents on Amazon, so he's bound to move some CD's one way or the other. One does a family friendly show, another chooses to offend rather than entertain, at least as far as the mainstream music audience perceives it. Is Adam Lambert becoming the next Chris Sligh? Don't think so.

IT BEGINS
Posted by: Evan | November 24, 2009 4:56 PM
Personally, I admire Adam Lambert's dedication to stimulating the downtrodden cosmetic industry. Chris Sligh didn't champion any such cause.
Posted by: kateebee | November 24, 2009 5:00 PM
No.
Posted by: Chris Sligh | November 24, 2009 5:08 PM
@ kateebee - That's not true. Chris Sligh propped up the trans fat producers for years! And he has single-handedly improved the awareness of adult diabetes as well as teaching America how to rock once again. We need more Chris Slighs guiding America through these rocky times.

What ??? That's a very DUMB question !!! Talk about apples and oranges !!
Posted by: Denise | November 24, 2009 5:42 PM
love me some Adam Lambert - love his button pushing - who the F is chris sligh?
Posted by: SCat | November 24, 2009 5:45 PM
Amazon did that same sale for Bon Jovi as well...they're doing it to promote their MP3 downloads, although the timing of it is making it look like it's because of Adam....
Enough already...the guy did a couple of 3-seconds provocative acts on TV...a lot of celebs have done a lot worse and gotten less flack...

Who is Adam Lambert?
Posted by: BA | November 24, 2009 5:57 PM
I know I'm going to get ridiculed for this: I heart Adam Lambert. I like his album, I liked his performance on the AMA, and I like the fact that he wears more makeup than me.
I want to go on a shopping spree at Sephora with him and then have a faux-hetero make-out session afterward.
Forget about the other guy.

AAAAAAAAAAAAH! I love Adam!!!
Also, who is Chris Sligh? I literally have no idea.

who are they?
Posted by: Alexander D. Mitchell IV | November 24, 2009 8:24 PM
Exactly?
Posted by: bryanintowson | November 25, 2009 9:05 AM
I read on a nightlife blog somewhere that Chris Sligh had a nasty heroin habit. Is Adam Lambert next?
Posted by: kateebee | November 25, 2009 9:37 AM
No heroin habit - just an addiction to Mongolian buffet, pizza and wings!
Posted by: Rosalee | November 25, 2009 10:38 AM
Ah, Adam the eyelined transgendered exotic who's now sucking up to Out magazine and the militantly gay Perez Hilton to prove he's gay enough.
If his singing is usually as good as it was on the AMA, in six months or so he’ll be Adam Who? to those who don’t already refer to him as Madame Glambert.
At least Sligh has his songwriting and producing to fall back on in a pinch.
kateebee, Sligh only had or has adherant faith habit.
You mean adam doesn't have one already?
Silly question, it would interfer with his being fabulous agent provocateur.
Posted by: GDA | November 25, 2009 12:11 PM
Yeah, they're the same in that they'll both be lumped into the same category by hipsters who can't fathom any form of music unless they were told it's cool by a college music radio station because people who achieve success from a television show can't possibly be as talented or creative as those that got somehow got signed to SubPop and OMGIdolNotTrueArtistPayYourDuesWhararlllbgaharbl.
Remember, if it's popular, it's bad!

What the heck is a trans fat producer JTK? i thought trans fat lived in our foods, the ones i avoid like the plague (there are none in sushi...) Producer, as in records, movies, etc.?
Maybe i should stay away from turkey, it may slow my mind down to a complete standstill...
Posted by: SushiGirl aka Lisa | November 25, 2009 1:30 PM
anyone notice that chris sligh actually commented?
Posted by: Stebbin | November 25, 2009 1:48 PM
Why does he have to be the new anybody? None of those comparisons have ever made sense and none ever will.
Posted by: coloforadam | November 25, 2009 3:21 PM
As demonstrated by this post, just because someone types in a particular name in the comments here, as long as the moderator passes it through, just about anyone can pose as anyone, and who's the wiser? -- Alexander D. Mitchell IV (or AM I?!?!)
Posted by: adam lambert | November 27, 2009 12:04 AM
Chris Sligh is easily worth 15 Adam Lamberts, which is about how many would fit inside the waist of his pants.
Posted by: Allan | November 27, 2009 10:55 AM
