Paul Masson covers "My Girls" by Animal Collective
Local singer/songwriter Paul Masson (no relation to the winemakers) was recently in studio to record an episode of Baltimore Unsigned, which airs tonight at 8 p.m. At the end of his session, he played this acoustic cover of Animal Collective's "My Girls." Dig it:

I've been The Baltimore Sun's nightlife and local entertainment reporter for a couple years, and it's surprising how much the scene has grown in that time. Most of Baltimore's bars and clubs are unpretentious places with fairly cheap drinks and plenty of character. I like dancing and think this city needs more clubs, but nothing beats having a cold, locally brewed beer with friends in a comfortably full corner bar.

Not a fan. It takes out all the energy that made the original such a stand-out.

It's like Damien Rice doinked Ray Lamontagne and then they only taught their offspring 3 chords and broke his heart like 6 times before the age of twelve, then put him in a studio with nothing to work with but this song

Love the cover! It's great when a musician recognizes a captivating song and makes it so in a new genre. I love hearing this particular song slowed down and stripped away. It's a heartfelt song, either way. Can't wait to hear more.
