Geeks unite for Mobbies tonight

Tonight, the Baltimore Sun is throwing a lovely little party over at the Metro Gallery (pictured), at 1700 N. Charles St.

They're going to be giving awards to the winners of the Mobbie Awards (for outstanding local blogs).

The shindig gets started at 7 p.m.

I'll be there. So should you. Come on down and meet some of the area's best and brightest bloggers.

Who you calling a geek?

"I'll be there."

"Come on down and meet some of the area's best and brightest bloggers."

Well, which is it?

Should be a blast!

I'll be the half drunk guy.

This geek wishes he could go, but the college newspaper business is a merciless one.

I've got a newborn at home so I missed it, but I am curious how it turned out -- are you gonna post a list of the winners, Sam?

Not sure how I missed you there Sam.

Complete list of winners is here:

Jeff, me neither! I was the guy in the gray sweater with the big name sticker that read MIDNIGHT SUN (sam sessa).

Congrats again to all the winners!

Congrats to all the winners, but especially to frequent-MS commenter, Evan. Looks like his blog won two awards. Very impressive.

Who would have known that a combination of snark and flavored vodka could get you so far in life?

Sam, you didn't win, or weren't you eligible because the Baltimore Sun was giving out prizes?

I would like to say congrats to Evan and everybody else who won.

Jason, yeah, Sun blogs weren't eligible. Again, congrats to all the winners!

thanks for the props gents! I had a blast last night hanging out with a wide variety of winners, nominees and well wishers. can't wait to see what the future holds for all us blogonerds out there.

Thank you for posting and Congratulations

About Sam Sessa
I've been The Baltimore Sun's nightlife and local entertainment reporter for a couple years, and it's surprising how much the scene has grown in that time. Most of Baltimore's bars and clubs are unpretentious places with fairly cheap drinks and plenty of character. I like dancing and think this city needs more clubs, but nothing beats having a cold, locally brewed beer with friends in a comfortably full corner bar.
