And the winner is ...
Rob Walshe! That's right folks, our mystery bar was the Emerald Tavern! What's this I hear about using Google Maps' Street View? You guys are nuts.
I'm sorry it took me a while to post the answer. I was giving a talk at a college journalism class about ... (drum roll please) ... blogging!
Anyhow, Rob, e-mail me at sam.sessa@baltsun.com to claim your prize.

I've been The Baltimore Sun's nightlife and local entertainment reporter for a couple years, and it's surprising how much the scene has grown in that time. Most of Baltimore's bars and clubs are unpretentious places with fairly cheap drinks and plenty of character. I like dancing and think this city needs more clubs, but nothing beats having a cold, locally brewed beer with friends in a comfortably full corner bar.

Thanks for coming out. It was cool to get your perspective on where things are headed and how you do what you do.

Sessa, I'm sure you're aware of the posting, but I feel like a posted link to Herman's Bar Fight blog may be apprpriate: http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/news/crime/blog/2009/09/bar_fight.html
There's quite the discussion over there about bar/club security staff responsibilities/roles/rights/etc..
