Looks like today is all about the grand openings.

The new Alliance Comics in South Baltimore is celebrating its grand opening 8 p.m.-10 p.m. tonight with a celebration at Illusions Magic Bar (1025 S. Charles St.).

According to Alliance's owner Amy McNeal, there will be drink specials, snacks, and of course, a live magic show.

She writes:

If you're looking for some relaxation at a beautiful art deco style bar with delicious drinks and an awesome magic show , come and join us!

About Sam Sessa
I've been The Baltimore Sun's nightlife and local entertainment reporter for a couple years, and it's surprising how much the scene has grown in that time. Most of Baltimore's bars and clubs are unpretentious places with fairly cheap drinks and plenty of character. I like dancing and think this city needs more clubs, but nothing beats having a cold, locally brewed beer with friends in a comfortably full corner bar.
