The grand opening of mist is this weekend
Sorry I didn't post earlier today. Our ancient blog software had one of its semi-regular meltdowns.
This just in: The grand opening of the new club mist (which replaced Iguana Cantina), is this weekend. Here are the details, according to an e-mail sent out by the JetSetMafia ...
The invite-only soft opening is tomorrow night at 11 p.m. How do you get an invite? Start by going here.
Then, the grand opening is Saturday.
The JetSet e-mail also included this enchanting description of mist:
True to the club’s name, MIST is decorated in lush turquoise fabrics, etched glass tile, and custom designed furniture. The 12,000 square foot stunning interior continues with raised VIP table seating, two bars and a state of the art sound system. A 27 foot screen stands behind the main bar playing visual imagery for your sensory delight. The creators of MIST spared no detail in creating a stunning lighting display with versatile truss lighting and LED’s (which change the color of the entire room) all create exciting visual environments for our patrons to explore.
Oh, and before I forget -- guess who sent me the heads up? Owl Meat. I didn't even get this e-mail myself, and I'm the nightlife guy. JetSetMafia, we need to have a talk. And thanks, Owl Meat.

Is this another "soft opening" that you detest? Seeing that it's invite only.

Zink!
My love of lush turquoise fabrics is well-known among the cognoscenti.
You will find me there sipping a Negroni, ensconced in purple velvet. Ne plus ultra, playaz.

Wait, is it mist or MIST? IT'S confusing TO me WHICH it IS.

I'd go but my Ed Hardy t-shirt is at the cleaners and I'm all out of hair gel.

I like grand openings.

Josh, I'm surprised there's not an umlaut in there somewhere.
Ted, if you want, you can borrow my spare bottle of Tommy Hilfiger cologne.
BA, hee hee.

Any place that is being run by a organization that has 'mafia' in it's name seems to be looking for trouble. Can we start a Padlock Pool?

@ Grundy
I pick never. Even if it degenerates into absolute anarchy and chaos, nothing of any substance will happen to them.

Since the term "stunning" is used repeatedly I am going to say that I am stunned people would sink money into this during a big recession.
I just threw up in my mouth.

Sam -
Thanks for the offer, but I'm an Axe body spray man.

Mist, is something that baltimore has been waiting for, there is no club like it. With the work of JetSetMafia & Goodlife Productions they took Iguana Cantina and raised the bar 1000x. Mist will become one of the most elegant clubs in Baltimore. Don't believe me? Check out the Grand Opening! P.S. Sam, give Bobby a call at 410.707.8500. He owns JetSetMafia. and can get you all the info to come and check out the place.

Mist's website seems too corporate for what it's claiming to be. Also, is this going to be a lounge or an ultra-lounge?

I don't understand why they go to so much cost and trouble to create a nightclub when it will never even be around long enough to pay for the "custom designed furniture" and "state of the art" sound system. Seems like such a waste of energy doesn't it?

I would never go to a place that would have the poor judgment to invite me.

Wooooo David. I just checked out the new site and it looks like a domain parking page. The bad news is it sports what appears to be referring page search terms that would make Der Kommissar blush, even if he is in search of mist. I hope you all succeed in that spot and bring in a good crowd.

Where is there website? And how much are they charging for cover?
Posted by: Michelle | September 26, 2009 11:39 AM
David,
Bobby owns JetSetMafia? Someone should tell Alan.

Does anyone know the contact info for the nightclub itself?

Oh wait look at this the same guy who owns Bourbon Street now owns MIST. Guess its going to be typical Baltimore night life all over again. Prepare to guard your wallet and fight off the 15 year old girls. What a joke I give it 6 months before the cops slams them with alcohol violations and chain the door closed. Oh wait that won't happen either because the owner was a cop and now's a lawyer. So get ready for another Baltimore eye sore that everyone will walk right by on their way to Power Plant

Whenever I hear the name of this club (Mist) I think of golden showers for some reason....

I was so excited about the big New Year's /Masquerade themed ball at Mist. I bought a VIP ticket in advance and was promised "no lines". ... We could"nt even get in the door. Everyone was rude. I was waving my VIP tickets in his face and it did'nt matter. After we finally made our way in, someone just took my printed out "VIP "tickets and ripped them up. Nobody checked IDs. And the man giving out braclets just walked away.We had to take it for ourselves. One good thing about the night was the little bit of sushi that I was actually able to fight my way to get. Oh yeah and it was promised to VIPS only, but anyone could of gotten it. Raa sushi made excellent sushi, I just hope that Mist didnt ruin their reputation. The police could have shut them down last night for underage drinking and the firemarshall could have for overbooking. That was my 1st time going there since it changed from the ghetto Iguana and honestly I would have preferred the ghetto over all the confusion an UNORGANIZATION. SO SO un organized. Shame on you Mist. You just lost a lot of future business and I give you 6 months if your lucky.

Michael, I am shocked, I say, shocked to hear such things.
MIlan UltraLounge/sushi/Italian restaurant was supposed to open last night. I wonder how that went.
