As far as NcDevins is concerned, you are aware that the owner has two children named Nick and Devin... and that they are of Irish heritage... NcDevins makes perfect sense....

Sobo Bob, oh yes, I am familiar with the owner and the children and all that. I understand the name NcDevin's. I just don't like it.

Honestly, I can't remember a place that has gone through so many bar names.
And the place is huge! 2 Floors

Oh, it's an amalgmation of his kid's names? Well, then forget it! NcDevin's is an awesome name!
Or not.
IMO, if the owner wanted to name the place after his kids, "Nick and Devin's" sounds a lot better.

While I love both of these establishments, I have to nominate No Idea and Don't Know. If I tell friends to meet me at one, inevitably they wind up at the other. It has caused irate reactions to the question, "where should I meet you?" Answer: "No Idea." The "Who's On First" Jokey Smurfiness of it all gets old fast.

You could have some real fun if you wanted to open this same question up to bad strip club names!
Posted by: Jeff | August 25, 2009 3:37 PM
Jeff, you made me think of the worst strip club name when I was stationed in Florida: "Show N Tail"
I laugh just thinking about it.

Green Cilantro & Hummers top the list
Posted by: zapkrafty | August 25, 2009 3:52 PM
I think it was a pretty bad decision to name a bar Bad Decisions. Don't Know and No Idea aren't too far behind.
Hummers might take the cake, though. God that's just awful.

I got Chinese carry-out from a place called "Wok on the wild side" once. Food was worse than the name.
Posted by: sturmy | August 25, 2009 4:53 PM
I would have to go with Green Cilantro and Bad Decisions.

I know Kamp building is for sale along with the two properties next to it for 800,000. That's with the curse included of course.

Add Cheerleaders to the list please

Dick's Liquor is pretty poor choice of names for a package goods store.
Posted by: Tomato Head | August 25, 2009 10:49 PM
I think there is a place called Dick's Halfway Inn on Philadelphia Rd in the Rosedale area. I did a double-take when I noticed the sign the first time.
Posted by: Cardwell | August 26, 2009 10:16 AM
Dick's Halfway Inn is on the list of best names, not worst. And Hummers would be a much better strip club name.
Posted by: zapkrafty | August 26, 2009 10:56 AM
It SHOULD be called Canton Arts & Entertainment LLC. that's a hilarious name for a bar...
Anyway...
Muggsy's Mug House
McGooby's Joke House
Vin (with the long pretentious vowel)
Nobel's
Mad Beaver (that's the place's name right?)

13.5% is dead on the money Sam. Just say it out loud, "you guys wanna go over to thirteen point five percent?" Where's the nickname in there? 135?
Posted by: Fat Kids Are Harder To Kidnap | August 26, 2009 5:30 PM
Nah, just call 13.5% "that fancy wine bar in Hampden." That's so much funnier.

Last night I walked past, and the lights were on and people were inside. Still no signage outside.
