The skinny on Suite 18
After wondering about the new Suite 18, I heard from marketing coordinator Danielle Lewis, who had the scoop on the new lounge.
It opened June 20 in the space that was formerly Gordon's Nightclub. The new management made a few cosmetic changes, but left the place largely the same, she said.
"It's geared towards young professionals who want to hang out," she said.
Suite 18 is 21+. Here are the specials, broken down by day, according to Lewis ...
On Wednesdays, they have Ste. Expressions, a live music event which showcases local and independent artists. There is a two-for-one happy hour from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. and BYOB wine all night. Hours are 5 p.m.-midnight.
Thursdays are Urban Hang Suite, a spoken word show. The two-for-one happy hour is 5pm-8pm and the show starts at 9pm. Hours are 5pm- 12am.
Fridays are Ste. Escape, which features drink specials all night beginning at 5 p.m. Hours are 5 p.m.-2 a.m.
On Saturdays, Suite teams up with local promoters to host events. Hours are usually 9 p.m.-2 a.m.
On Sundays, they have a happy hour from 5 p.m.-9 p.m.

Most of you drink like 6-7 days a week, they should call Sam Sessas column Alcholics Anoynomous..because admit it folks, you sip on Budweisers a little to much, your body needs alchohol like it needs water! Sam is known to hit the bottle of his best friend Jack Daniels...I think he is a fool for not drinking the mans Whiskey, I am talking about Old Crow, my drink, I made it famous...where in the hell is my endoresment deal..ya know what I mean fools..lol? Put the beer down, as a former columnist Sam Sessa encouraged me to tell drinking stories, I aint no darn drunkin fool..you may be, but I am not! Alot of people have been sending me facebook requests to Tim Lumber, they still wanna talk about my old days here. That is in the past, I am now a sports writer, check out my URL if your not to drunk..haha! I am the guy who made Midnight Sun famous, and I got fired for it, the editors here couldnt stand the fact that I was better than the bald headed(call- Rogain) Sam Sessa. And Sam, why in the heck havent you accepted my facebook friend request...you still holding a grudge...bucky? Its time to say goodbye, my name aint Mr.Rogers, and this isnt my neighborhood...so Im leaving this drunkin neighborhood, you kids need to sober up, and Sam lets add some energy behind these lackluster stories, are u drinking again..haha? chw -- Out of the places you mentioned, I've only been to 1772 once. It is SHADY. Hence the reason I haven't been back.
Tim -- huh?

Hey, that used to be the Rev! I saw a lot of great bands there in the 90s.I did get held up after a show there once (Royal Trux), but it was nowhere near the club - it was actually around the corner from my house, at 27th and Charles.

Adam -- I live on the westside, across the street from the Hippodrome. All I said was that the place was shady. When I'm out I'm not really in to seeing people snort coke in the bathroom...just not my sorta thing.

Posted by: adam | August 6, 2009 2:38 PM
Adam -- Yes, I wonder how long it will take for something shady/corrupt/illegal to happen.
