Is this one available in stores? Don't make me come to Baltimore to get it.

Erin, it is only available at the source and probably at the other Dog Pub in Columbia. It is not available for retail sale, probably not even "to go" at the two Dogs--I think it's draft only.
There is/was another watermelon beer, Lovitz Watermelon Lager, being done by the Roy-Pitz microbrewery in Chambersburg, Pa., but that's also draft-only and only in certain local (to Chambersburg) accounts. Red Brick Station in White Marsh is promising to brew one once watermelons are in season. There are a couple other watermelon beers around the nation being made seasonally, but none that I know of you're likely to find on any retail shelves in this region.

I tried it the other evening... tastes like jolly ranchers. Normally I don't like fruity beers but this one was pretty decent. I give it a B.

The first sip is surprising, but it tastes better on the second sip because you're more ready for it. I just had a sample -- not sure how it'd go down over the course of an entire beer.

Sign seems like something you'd see if Mad River or Magerks had a melon beer

Interesting blackboard message.
I wonder how much a playful little titillation goes toward grabbing attention and generating sales?

I had about 4 of the Melon Dogs this Sat. All 4 were delicious!
