Scratch that bit about Scores and Aqua

aqua baltimoreIt seems I've been misled.

Earlier this week, when Sean Lewis told me the gentleman's club Scores was taking over the high-end pool lounge Aqua (pictured) at the Merritt Athletic Club in Canton, he overstated Scores' role.

According to Aqua's management, Scores didn't have any direct input on events at Aqua.

According to them, Lewis works for a promotional company that was planning on holding events at Aqua, though nothing has been finalized ...

"There's no official relation with Scores and Aqua or any promotional organization and Aqua," said Dan Llewellyn, one of Aqua's employees.

And though Lewis said he's a co-owner of Aqua, that title belongs to Maura Smith. Sorry for any confusion, gang.

Either way, we are pumped Aqua is back in season. Let's be serious- where else do we go in Baltimore once it's closed. I've joined the merritt athletic club for their pool and their staff. The aqua part is an added plus!!!

My friends and go there every Saturday---- day and night.......

Here we go again!

Always a good thing that I can walk to my gym and walk to favorite club....

AND
The best pool bar in town......!

We will be there EVERY Saturday!!!

are there any more shills out there that want to talk about how great Aqua is?

i guess this is where you go once bay cafe seems passe. total cheese.

I'm with you jason z. God help us.

No one is buying the Aqua manager comments under fake female names.

Step your internet promo game up, homie.

does merritt provide unlimited roids and blow with their memberships or is that an add on package?

scores is what they need it was starting to get getto with all the want to be thugs. i went all the time .and the lady who was running it was a little out of her league they need a good nite club person who knows that scene not a fells point /canton bar manager..

Looks like Redwood Trust/Palma now will be called The Velvet Rope according to the signs out front. What has Midnight Sun Nation heard about it?

If you know of a good nite club person in Baltimore, let everyone, who has wasted millions of dollars trying to open nite clubs in Baltimore, know

From what I've heard, some promoters who often cross-promote for Scores will promote Aqua this summer but it doesn't appear that Scores is directly involved.

lets see what happens im excited to have aqua back.it always had the hottest girls .

Just get it started so I can begin my summer.

Too many people complain, but atleast it gives us all something to do in this city!

Give them a shot! Hot girls and pretty people....

So many people take credit for aqua. But give it all to Merritt. Atleast they have the [fortitude to do something different!

Sam- you make it easy to like Baltimore again. Have you tried Bartenders yet?

Just from seeing the pics online, it seems like places like this attract the hottest girls. True most of them are vapid airheads, but what else are you really looking for on a Saturday night? I've never been but it looks like a nice change of pace from the normal neighborhood bars.

About Sam Sessa
I've been The Baltimore Sun's nightlife and local entertainment reporter for a couple years, and it's surprising how much the scene has grown in that time. Most of Baltimore's bars and clubs are unpretentious places with fairly cheap drinks and plenty of character. I like dancing and think this city needs more clubs, but nothing beats having a cold, locally brewed beer with friends in a comfortably full corner bar.
