Michael Phelps spotted at Sullivan's Steakhouse on opening day

michael phelpsWorld champion swimmer and local hero Michael Phelps dropped by Sullivan's Steakhouse (1 E. Pratt St.) Monday, according to Andrea Kunicky, the restaurant's publicist.

Phelps chowed down on the seafood sampler and the New York strip, Kunicky said.

He was accompanied by about a dozen of his friends.

Phelps, it seems, rolls deep.

he was also spotted eating lunch at the Graul's Cafe/ buying liquor at the Graul's Wine Shop in Lutherville on Saturday afternoon; spent over $300 on booze!

Who cares? Let the man live his life.

Why is this worthy of a mention on this blog?

Who?

I didn't realize that the Baltimore Sun was a 13 year old girl. Does the Sun have a poster of Phelps above her bed?

AWESOME!!!!! :)

Phelps is a douche...who cares????

Holding my breath for the Chris Sligh reference...

Duuude, I got the munchies.

Oh hell gimme the (bleeping) soap!

"Exactly."

Amy,

Don't turn blue, one's not coming, at least from me.
Unless of course you count Sam's "Exactly"

Sam,

Will that soap be bar, soft or body wash?

Sullivan's Steakhouse's publicist Andrea Kunicky,
failed to mention if they gave Phelps & co. got the meal free
or at least a break on the bill for using his appearrance there
as an attention getting devise for publicity.

Over/under on when his next legal/PR transgression will occur?? Crystal ball says: 2 months....Dewey/OC....DUI.

good call on the Dewey prediction...definitely his kind of scene.

Did Sullivan's make him wear his hat straight or did they allow him to keep it cocked to the side in his wonderful O.G. way?

I'd like to put $100 on that Dewey prediction, by the way.

Sturmy/Chris: The Phelps PR-blunder machine has actually been in force all week. Apparently after lunch in Bmore, flipper headed up to NYC for some racier fun: http://www.baltimoremagazine.net/eyesonthestreet/

LGood....I've been thinking about quitting B'more and moving out to Vegas and becoming a handicapper.
Evan, I was out in AZ for the tourney 2 weeks ago. Thabeet walked out into the crowd after UConn won their game. Seems like he'd be a fun dude to hang with, maybe that's what ole Mikey was thinking?

About Sam Sessa
I've been The Baltimore Sun's nightlife and local entertainment reporter for a couple years, and it's surprising how much the scene has grown in that time. Most of Baltimore's bars and clubs are unpretentious places with fairly cheap drinks and plenty of character. I like dancing and think this city needs more clubs, but nothing beats having a cold, locally brewed beer with friends in a comfortably full corner bar.
