XS has a new lounge
How was everyone's weekend? Did you do anything crazysexycool?
Midnight Sunner Evan posted a pretty funny recap of his exploits at Max's Belgian Fest, complete with videos of the experience.
I have some nightlife news to share with everyone: XS, the restaurant and bar at 1307 N. Charles St., has a new lounge space. It's on their third (or maybe fourth) floor. XS has so many tiers I sometimes lose count.
The building owners blasted a hole in the brick wall, and created a dark, inviting lounge in the neighboring building space ...
It's not worth a nightlife column, methinks, but it is worth noting. If you're in the area and looking for a low-key spot to chill on a Friday or Saturday night, keep it in mind. XS has great chocolate chip pancakes, if that's your thing, but I haven't spent many late nights there.
I also dropped by another brand new bar, which I will post about later today. And I hit up two favorites, which were awesome, as always: Brewer's Art and the Idle Hour. Good weekend for me, all in all.
How was yours?

I enjoyed some happy hour time at Metropolitan. I snooped around the old Banjara space, they are working in there. I had heard that the chef, Tony, from Metropolitan was connected to whatever is going into Banjara's old space. It looks to have a big old bar in the middle that wraps around onto the smaller other side. Any idea what's going on there?

AC-M, that's interesting news about that space. I knew something was going on there, but I'll call the Metro and see if they know more. Thanks for the tip.
