New hookah bar: El Basha

el bashaLooks like there's a new hookah bar in town. It's called El Basha, and it's on the 200 block of East Baltimore Street.

Don't know much more about it right now, because it wasn't open today when I dropped by, but from peering through the window, it looks like it's about ready to open.

I saw some circular cushioned booths, as well as a few hookahs lined up along the back wall.

Odd place for a hookah bar though. I'll bet most of the foot traffic they get is either going to or coming from The Block.

I'll post more when I know more.

Thanks to MS reader Courtney for the tip.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on with the old Tim's Place in the 1100 block of Hull Street. I only went into Tim's place once...and it was definitely weird. Kinda like walking into some dude's living room that also had a bar.

Anyway, I thought that they were converting it into two townhouses, but driving by last night it's clear that it might be a bar or restaurant. It was the first time that I'd ever seen anyone working there late, but I couldn't stop because I had someplace to be.

Anyone know what's going on there?

Not psyched about this... I work next door (in an office, not at Larry Flynt's, haha), and working late nights is already super sketchy. Hmmm, maybe I AM psyched about this, because I have a legitimate reason not to sit at my desk until 9 or 10!!

They've also been advertising another Lake Trout location opening on this block, but it's been "Coming Soon" for over a year, and renovations are intermittent.

CantonKate, that Lake Trout spot is supposed to be the new home of the Roost, which closed a few years ago. If it hasn't opened yet, I doubt it will. And if it does miraculously open, I doubt it will be as good as the Roost.

I BEEN TO EL BASHA ..... I LOVE IT!!! ME N MY FRIENDS GO THERE PRETTY OFTEN TO CHILL N RELAX .... I LIKE IT WAY BETTER THEN ICE OUT IN TOWSON .... I LIKE THE AUTHENTIC ART IN THE CASES AROUND THE LOUNGE AND THE ARABIS MUSIC REALLY SETS THE MOOD ....
