Clay, a man burden with a last name that invites bad puns, who is ahead of being born Marvin Gay. The final "e" was added in the hope it would help to minimise people from endlessly inquiring "Is...?", which distressed Marvin to no end.
Anyway, maybe Sam or Elizabeth should have him write a review of the meal & the bar service and the tip he thought they warranted.

That guy Alan is just not nice. Im shocked Clay didn't see through his b.s. its cool he went and all, and regis had great food, but that guy doesnt deserve it.
I also heard he's horrible to his employees

Didn't Clay stop breathing and die from ingesting shellfish? I thought he was allergic, or so he has said. What a strange guy.
Posted by: Toto | February 4, 2009 3:27 PM
I don't believe the story sence he was seen somewhere else plus he's allergic to shellfish

So does Clay frequent Baltimore restaurants? Because I swore it was him who borrowed a lighter from me last summer on the Babalu patio, but everyone thought I was full of **it.

Crabs are crustaceans(shrimp, lobster, etc) and differ from shellfish(mussels, clams, oysters, etc)You can have an allergy to shellfish without having an allergy to.
crustaceans.
Just a little info that might explain Clay eating "crab'. I hope he enjoyed his meal.

Crabs, huh? he flew all the way up from Raleigh for a meal in Baltimore? & to watch Superbowl?
Well, at least he didn't roll into town to eat crow.

I've always found Alan to be over-the-top friendly, actually. I spoke to him for five minutes with my girlfriend once, and he's remembered our names each time we've gone there (once every 4 months or so) for the last two years.

He was spotted flying to DC over the weekend, so I believe it.
The real question is, who was he with?

Who is Clay Aiken?
Oh wait, nevermind. haha
Posted by: CantonKate | February 4, 2009 5:36 PM
No no no CantonKate you're supposed to set up the classic "Who is ... exactly routine!"

I work at Regis and alan is a great guy to work for, might be a little rough around the edges and seem gruf at times but to run the operation he does, he sort of has to be. He cares more about the customers than himself which is needed these days. Stop in and you will see.

Well, I know some one who works for him and heard he is very hard to deal with. Of course he couldn't be any worse than Karen Fulton, the previous proprietor. She was totally out there!!!

Clay Aiken works with Unicef,.. it had been reported that he had a meeting in Washington regarding his next Unicef Trip.

I know from a number of sources that Alan has not treated his employees the best. He is the best compared to the owner of Porter's though.

Who cares? His moment in the sun is done. So what? A pseudocelebrity got something to eat in Baltimore. Should we also be treated to the knowledge of where he went to the bathroom too?

There's also speculation that he was in DC with his boyfriend, Reed, and that they were seeing a series of Broadway-inspired performances. It has been reported that Reed was seen at Reagan airport waiting for a plane. Reed is into sports, so it's not inconceivable that they could have been there, alone or with friends, watching the game.
However, there have also been reports that he was recently in London seeing Hannah Waddingham in her current role.
Whatever he's doing, I hope he's having a good time, and spending time with Reed before Reed goes back to work, and Clay gets busy with whatever he's got coming up.

who was taking care of his baby?
Posted by: JERRY | February 5, 2009 2:26 PM
Jerry asked: Who was taking care of his [Clay's] baby?
Clay's best female friend and mother of the baby was probably taking care of him. Sometimes parents do travel leaving the other parent in charge. :-)

Maybe Regi's owner meant American Idol Taylor Hicks who is in town doing "Grease".
Posted by: Tomato Head | February 5, 2009 4:31 PM
Undoubtedly it would be Jaymes taking care of baby Parker while "Dad" has some time off!

Sam I have a question for you...how come when a guy celebrity comes to town you write about it...why not write about the hot girls instead? When will these girl celebs get there day in the sun?
Posted by: Tim Lumber | February 6, 2009 12:18 AM
I cant stand that owner/hostess Alan. He's a shade-ball, and i dont eat there anymore because of him... A-Fraud !!
