Way off topic ... looks like Sun changed their web front page and dropped the Blog section? Now it takes more clicks and page loads to find the blogs, and no more drop down menu. What's up with that? Am I missing an easier way to get to the blogs?

JD, it wasn't intentionally dropped. According to our multimedia crew, the blog feeds (that's what used to be on the homepage) and the RSS feeds are temporarily out of commission. They've been out of commission since noon yesterday. No word on how long they'll be out of commission. That's up to the commissioner, I guess.
In the meantime, the best way to find Midnight Sun is by plugging in http://baltimoresun.com/midnightsun and saving that to your favorites.

A friend of mine is throwing a Prohibition Party at the Midtown Yacht Club which was also a speakeasy at one point it seems. We're doing it right, complete with period dress. Should be a good time.

Speaking of commissioners, 2009 marks the 75th anniversary of the Liquor Board. Many licensees will be celebrating their 75th anniversary of board licensing next year. We are ordering Sam to compile a list of all of this weekend's parties for the repeal and post it forthwith. We will try to stop by off duty and pay tribute to all the Midnight SunHons. We thank Sam in advance for his cooperation.
