Where is everyone drinking tonight?

how about a delicious pint of beer?Happy pre-Thanksgiving Day, faithful Midnight Sunners.

Today has a special place in our calendar. It's Drinky Day!

People imbibe more on the day before Thanksgiving than they do any other day of the year.

How delightful! Only if they drink responsibly, of course.

Why is this? Well, no one knows for sure*, but I believe it's because people want to cut loose before having to put up with their extended family and also make the most of the four-day weekend.

So now the question is, where will you go? Do tell.

(Well look at that! A photo! Haven't seen one of these on Midnight Sun in days! This particular photo is by the AP.)

*Someone may know for sure. I just didn't bother to check.

Red House Tavern..for CMX and other crunchy goodness.

probably the Diz, since it's close. Sam Adam's Winter Lager is out in those gigantic viking glasses!

also Sam, i know it's advertising moola, but that bedrock ad for the Misfits is misleading. misleading as to say that the current incarnation is worth paying for, which they are not.

Home......it's amateur night. Just like NYE and St. Paddy's.

where I always drink...at work

Looks like a Friends..Peters Inn...1919...Henningers...Spirits evening! Everyone enjoy!

I'll be at Fletcher's for the bash celebrating the 55th birthday of Curtis Armstrong ("Booger" from Revenge of the Nerds) and the 34th birthday of DJ Jeff the DJ (local celebrity, host of Flesh Colored Radio, host of Kamikaze Karaoke at Midtown Yacht Club, official DJ of the Charm City Roller Girls).

Fells Point. Beware of Cop Stops tonight though. They will be probably be all over 95 tonight.

Connolly's Corner (Sports) Bar....Sam Adams winter lager with the regulars...Rich, Jack, Mr. Deez, BigBill, Martha and Putin.

Also hitting up the Red House for their Annual Naked Turkey Party! Lots of specials and rad local music, can't wait!

Hey Sam,
I enjoy the column and it's a reason i get home delivery. Can you mention something more about the beer you receive at the places? In particular, if draft it is flat or not. It is amazing how rare it is for the bartender to not serve a flat beer (many places seem to have old or near empty kegs or whatever the cause) and there's not a bubble in sight. But they'll happily serve you this skunk beer and still expect to be tipped, as well, if you sit at the bar do they fill the glass or leave good or bad foam at top etc or does it spill over welcomingly?
I am tired of suffering though flat draft beer - lets help make the city a better place! yippie! p.s. the common beers are typically not flat

About Sam Sessa
I've been The Baltimore Sun's nightlife and local entertainment reporter for a couple years, and it's surprising how much the scene has grown in that time. Most of Baltimore's bars and clubs are unpretentious places with fairly cheap drinks and plenty of character. I like dancing and think this city needs more clubs, but nothing beats having a cold, locally brewed beer with friends in a comfortably full corner bar.
