Approaching 7,000 comments

sam sessa's deskAnd a good morning to all of you, friends.

It is my pleasure -- my utmost delight -- to announce the impending arrival of the 7,000th comment on Midnight Sun.

Comment No. 7,000 will come soon, but I'm not saying exactly when.

But we should be far enough out that a stream of seven silly comments by one poster (Drew From Greektown, JTK, BA -- I'm thinking of you guys) will not win the prize.

Oh, the prize! I almost forgot. He whom-so-ever posteth the 7,000th comment shall receive one piece of flibbity-jibbity from the exalted desk of Sam Sessa.

so uh how many times do I have to post until i'm 7,000th?! Congrats BTW.

Check out this blog, which shows the view of people's desks from all around the world. Many are just as cluttered as yours, Sam.

Yes We Can

Is that bottle of water unopened?

I resent that comment.

Is Homer back? I would take him, even though he is missing a limb.

wait, so do we get the flibbity, or just the jibbity?

Bryan, unfortunately, that bottle of water is indeed open. I used to use one Styrofoam cup each day. But then I quit cold turkey and switched over to refilling the same Dasani water bottle from the work fountain. It's one small step for me, but one giant leap towards climate control for all of us!

Drew, Homer is not back, and even if he was, you couldn't have him. Homer, when returned, will stay in my safe-keeping.

Allan, you can have both if you want. Or none. It's up to you. And luck, of course.

consarnit.

What precisely is a flibbity-jibbity?

I wanna big donut!
