Allan- I'm in the same boat with my wife (teacher). Whatever you do, get out of the house!!! You know she'll be a different woman in a few short weeks. Live while you can!!
My formula: ... find a new bar/restaurant that you haven't been to for late night apps/drinks.
Depending on budget, add dinner, movie, etc. I find the further away the spot is from where we live, (and hence the less chance of running into people you know) the better. But don't go too far or she'll fall asleep/pass out before you get home. And know body wants that.
We hit up restaurant week in DC this week. Well worth the drive.

Here's where you'll end up Drew, talking off some awful bartender's ear about how you wept when you realized you'd miss the soiree.
You enjoy grinding out those $4.75 20 ouncers, Sally
Applebee's Bar and Grill
