Lager's Pub responds to the letter!
Sigh of relief.
I'll admit -- I was a little worried the folks at Lager's Pub would read the letter and book I sent them, freak out and sue us.
Thankfully, they have a sense of humor, and took it well. (If you're not familiar with this mini-saga, it starts here and continues here and here.)
Here's the letter I received from Lager's, which was actually posted as a comment ...
Dear Sam,
As a former patron, neighbor and new owner of Lagers in Canton, I appreciate the material and cover letter your recently sent us. Thank you!
In the likes of Britney Spears, and Paris Hilton, we at Lagers love being notorious for our sexiness. This of course includes our lascivious customers which after a few too many, will do just about anything (and yes, I'm speaking from experience). Maybe that comment you reference in your letter was about me? Cool.
Now if our sexiness makes the un-date-able hate us, hate on hater!
On another note, to those that love pro-football, Lagers is without a doubt the best place to watch all your favorite NFL teams on any given Sunday.
This is a proud Ravens bar, but as a Steelers Fan, I personally love to challenge my neighbors and colleagues on their knowledge of the game. I am always disappointed with the lack of basic football knowledge and fan fickleness displayed by our Ravens enthusiasts.
Finally, I believe to truly understand something you need to experience it first hand. So, for those of you that have not yet frequented Lagers on a weekend, just one thing to tell you- "WARNING- IT GETS SEXY IN HERE!"
xoxo-
Nicholle

I've been The Baltimore Sun's nightlife and local entertainment reporter for a couple years, and it's surprising how much the scene has grown in that time. Most of Baltimore's bars and clubs are unpretentious places with fairly cheap drinks and plenty of character. I like dancing and think this city needs more clubs, but nothing beats having a cold, locally brewed beer with friends in a comfortably full corner bar.

Sam, take this to your copy editors, STAT.

I don't even know where Lager's is. But now I want to check it out.

A woman Steelers fan? I do find a mustache on a woman sexy.

Have to admit; I walked by Lager's yesterday on my way to Safeway, and all the discussion about it on the boards intrigued me, and I thought about stopping in. May have to do it on a weekend though, so I can see the sexiness (?) haha
Is this an example of even bad press bringing in business?

...fan fickleness displayed by our Ravens enthusiasts.
interesting digression,

...And cc your legal department as well... just in case.

"Britney Spears, and Paris Hilton, we at Lagers love being notorious for our sexiness"
a curious statement. I don't think many people currently would regard these two as particularly sexy or desireable, except, possibly, for their money.

Good for them, I'm surprised that they can write, even a Steelers Fan!
They still [stink].
If I'd like to enjoy a Ravens game in a Canton bar, I'll cozy up ... at Looney's.

if they were smart, they'd have an "idiot" happy hour with signed copies of the book for sale (sign it with a kiss from your hottest barmaids) and extra low drink specials.

Seriously, though, was there an attached letter from their lawyer's office and was this letter delivered by uniformed officers of the Baltimore City Police Department, summons in hand?

There's no such thing as bad press. But I know from personal experience that Lagers definitely needs to read this book through; complete with highlighting, bookmarking, and taking in depth notes. But for those of you who are intrigued, by all means stop by... they need the business.

I found Lager's ... turns out it's right down the street from me. Only lived in Canton 2 months, so I get a pass for being that oblivious.
