Hamilton Tavern renovated and reopen
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you ... the brand new Hamilton Tavern, at 5517 Harford Road.
Tom Creegan (who co-owns Brewer's Art) oversaw the project. He owns the building, and and his wife, local jazz singer Felicia Carter, is one of the business owners.
The bar was closed for five months while Creegan and the crew installed new HVAC, ripped up the carpets to reveal the old flooring and built a new bar.
Like Brewer's Art, there are no TVs inside.
And in classical Smalltimore fashion, not only did Creegan buy the building from Richard DeSantis, he grew up in Chestertown, and my aunt Linda was one of his babysitters back in the day.
Weird.
The tavern is open 4:30 p.m.-2 a.m. Wednesdays-Mondays.
Its website, hamiltontavern.com, should be up soon, Creegan said.

I used to live in Hamilton. My father once told me that the Hamilton Tavern had the smallest bar in the City. It had 2 bar stools and maybe 6 feet of bar space. I wonder what it looks like now.
