Full Moon Saloon gets a facelift

full moon saloon

Thanks to a timely tip by MS poster jmgiordano, I snapped this photo of the building which used to house the Full Moon Saloon.

Back story: The Saloon was bought by the owner of neighboring restaurant Louisiana, who pledged to turn it into a high-end jazz club.

Now, being the nightlife critic, I hear a lot of stories like this one -- some with little results. That's not the case here though.

Wow. Double wow. Triple wow? Nah. But definitely double wow ...

I barely recognize the building. Looks like the delightfully dirty-looking Full Moon Saloon finally got a shave and a haircut (and we all know how much that costs).

When I get an estimated opening date for the new club, I'll pass it along.

About Sam Sessa
I've been The Baltimore Sun's nightlife and local entertainment reporter for a couple years, and it's surprising how much the scene has grown in that time. Most of Baltimore's bars and clubs are unpretentious places with fairly cheap drinks and plenty of character. I like dancing and think this city needs more clubs, but nothing beats having a cold, locally brewed beer with friends in a comfortably full corner bar.
