About the blogger
I've been The Baltimore Sun's nightlife and local entertainment reporter for a couple years, and it's surprising how much the scene has grown in that time. Most of Baltimore's bars and clubs are unpretentious places with fairly cheap drinks and plenty of character. I like dancing and think this city needs more clubs, but nothing beats having a cold, locally brewed beer with friends in a comfortably full corner bar.

All I know is, on NYE a few years back we went to the big party at M&T stadium. Even though the tv's inside advertised cabs galore, there were none outside. And we left around 1am, (the party was over at 2) so it wasn't like we were out there with the whole crowd. After walking to the Sheraton at the IH, we did find a cab, However, he refused to take us out of the city. I explained we needed to go literally 8 minutes up 95, he still refused. We had to call a friend to come get us. That's the last time I relied on Baltimore City cabs for transportation.
