To clarify
Don't think I made this clear enough with yesterday's Fab Five post.
I'm looking for bars with consistent live music.
Preferably free live music.
So clubs like the 8x10 or the Ottobar don't count.
But bars like the Red House Tavern do.
So give me more stuff like that.

I've been The Baltimore Sun's nightlife and local entertainment reporter for a couple years, and it's surprising how much the scene has grown in that time. Most of Baltimore's bars and clubs are unpretentious places with fairly cheap drinks and plenty of character. I like dancing and think this city needs more clubs, but nothing beats having a cold, locally brewed beer with friends in a comfortably full corner bar.

Sam Sessa, laying down the law!
Full Moon Saloon in Fells used to have music all the time. Haven't been there in a while though.

We were just at The Red House last night for open mic night and had a blast seeing local musicians rip it up. Awesome bar crowd & the owners are fantastic as well. I'd say it's a great venue for free, local music!

I'd think The Depot would fit the description, though bands are less common than DJ's.
I haven't been yet (so I'm not sure if they have a cover or not), but Bedrock might fit the bill as well. They seem to lean more towards non-band live music, but they do have live music...like Big In Japan on April 6.
