Rolling Stone gives Baltimore props

Rolling Stone awarded Baltimore Best Scene in their new 2008 Best of Rock issue.

Dan Deacon, Darkroom Productions, Golden West Cafe, Beach House, Sound Garden and others get nods.

I was hoping Rolling Stone would give Baltimore a bigger spread than this, but we'll take what we can get.

Here's a link.

I seem to recall in a previous rant about Angels Rock Bar, I mentioned that Baltimore had one of the best rock scenes in the country... Rolling Stone has proved it...

This is proof: Rock Bar must GO!

Man forget the Golden West. GW has crappy service and the food is not all that great.

But it does have one thing HIPSTERS! Oh so many hipsters!

haters ALWAYS comment first. get a grip hampden homie.

About Sam Sessa
I've been The Baltimore Sun's nightlife and local entertainment reporter for a couple years, and it's surprising how much the scene has grown in that time. Most of Baltimore's bars and clubs are unpretentious places with fairly cheap drinks and plenty of character. I like dancing and think this city needs more clubs, but nothing beats having a cold, locally brewed beer with friends in a comfortably full corner bar.
