Approaching 3,000 comments

A while back I predicted we'd hit 3,000 comments this month.

Looks like we're right on track.

And you know what that means.

Whoever posts the 3,000th comment gets to have one of the many toys on my desk.

Or a small stack of CDs.

Or both.

That's one hoot-nanny of a deal.

We should hit the mark in the next day or two.

As the late Rick James would say, "It's a celebration!"

Allow me to kick off the barrage of meaningless comments who's sole purpose is to win one of the treasure's on Sam's desk.

I like beer

I like music

I like going to bars

I like going to bars that have good beers and good music

Did you hit 3000 yet?

Shouldn't this practice instantly disqualify you from winning

To hell with it - I've got to get back to work. Congrats (in advance) on hitting 3000. That's certainly a milestone...

...that a major league ballplayer would be proud to achieve. :) Seriously, I'm done now. Congrats Sam

Evan, I'm a man who likes to stir the pot. As such, starting a flurry of pointless comments is just as fun as a flurry of meaningful ones. So bring it on!

Just having a little fun. Besides, I believe the last MS comment milestone was reached in a similar manner...maybe not quite as obnoxious as what I just did, but still...

Screw work - it's a celebration b****es!! (A l*ttle blog topic cr*ss-p*llination)

My name is Evan and I'm on the mic

I like to ride my yellow bike

Just curious, when you post a comment on your own blog does it count towards the total??

My rhymes might suck but there's no doubt

they will increase this blog's comment count

Midnight Sun, it's sometimes droll

except for the occasional Chris Sligh troll

So raise the roof, give it a go

raise ya fist and shout it: FMEB-HO

peace i'm out

Greg, I try to work the math so my comments don't count toward the total.

Looks like Evan decided not to pout,
about me inflating Sam's count,
so let's get together for a Guiness Stout

and maybe eat some Lake Trout

i am oviously spamming to try to win the prize, but at least i will add some related links:

Lake Trout is weak son,

chicken box for the long run

ranch dressing on tha side, you weigh a ton

flavor so hot, it don't matter none

This may be Sam's most successful post yet...bring on the free swag!

Do we know which Sun blog has the most comments overall? My guess: Military Watch.

Now don't you go and call me weak,
My peeps all know I'm a superfreak,
Lake Trout is a B-more fixture,
Ketchup & hot sauce the ideal mixture

Man I did not plan on getting into a online lyrical throwdown today, but now I'm done. Going out to enjoy the weather. I kindly ask that everyone stop posting comments until tomorrow so I can win a Simpsons the way, what ever became of Homer?

Homer! God I totally forgot about him. I gotta get back on that. Stay tuned.

a hoot-nanny? I prefer Box Socials, myself.

I'm gonna take more of a lottery approach on this. I feel with this post, I shall crack 3000. Although probably not.

or maybe this one. yeah, thats the ticket. a GOLDEN ticket. sweeeet.

Who the hell is Sam Sessa?

I like turtles!

Dearest Evan and Greg S,

Please don't quit your day jobs. There are already plenty of bad rappers in the world.

Besides, I want to win, darn it!!

I don't care if I get the 3000th comment or not.

I can't believe this hasn't been posted yet...

in memory...

I'm Rick James b*******!!!!!!

I want to win too. Come on Sam!

I won't quit my day job, but I just might lose it after posting a dozen comments on MS while on the the clock

Courtney the world needs bad rap.

My backpack's got jets
I'm Boba the Fett

...i'm gonna stop now

How old are you?
I thought Hootenannys belonged in the deep dark past of the late fifties, early sixties.

You know, when Folk music* reigned, before The Beatles landed in NYC.

* i.e. when "Blowin' in the Wind" was a hit for Peter, Paul & Mary.

How about some non-Chris promotional clips on the sly?

The Rolling Stones (1967):

The Residents (1980?):

Later consideration brought forth the notion our host does way too much clubbing for someone pushing sixty and the possibility that the word came back in fashion like "cool" did or with a different meaning like "boogie" did periodicly does.
