More on Muggsy's
Dropped by Muggsy's Mug House (1236 Light St.) last night for a quick 16-ounce mug of Sam Adams White Ale, which cost $4.
I think all beer should be drunk out of big glass mugs, or even better -- giant wooden horns.
So in that sense, I'm all for Muggsy's.
Bartender/co-owner Ryan Cooper told me they're planning on ordering some mini-mugs to use as shot glasses too.
Cooper and the other co-owners haven't changed the interior much from when it was Clayton's Tavern.
But of the dozen or so beers on tap, only a couple were local brews.
The reason?
According to Cooper, they're gearing up for St. Patrick's Day.

I've been The Baltimore Sun's nightlife and local entertainment reporter for a couple years, and it's surprising how much the scene has grown in that time. Most of Baltimore's bars and clubs are unpretentious places with fairly cheap drinks and plenty of character. I like dancing and think this city needs more clubs, but nothing beats having a cold, locally brewed beer with friends in a comfortably full corner bar.
