Bourbon Street Live to replace Hammerjacks?

Lorraine Mirabella had an article in today's paper about a new club called Bourbon Street Live potentially coming to the old Hammerjacks space on Guilford Avenue.

Bourbon Street Live would take up both floors and feature a New Orleans theme with live music.

Here's a link to the whole story.

I call dibs on the Hammerjacks sign.

It would be a perfect fit in my Electric Room.

Sorry, Sam. No dibs for you. I was driving down Guilford last Friday morning and the sign was on the ground, being dismantled by a crew. I pulled over and asked its fate, and the guy said it was being trashed, and he asked if I wanted it. Not having an electric room of my own, or nearly the space, I just took the neon hammer.

About Sam Sessa
I've been The Baltimore Sun's nightlife and local entertainment reporter for a couple years, and it's surprising how much the scene has grown in that time. Most of Baltimore's bars and clubs are unpretentious places with fairly cheap drinks and plenty of character. I like dancing and think this city needs more clubs, but nothing beats having a cold, locally brewed beer with friends in a comfortably full corner bar.
