Gin mill reopens
The Gin Mill (2300 Boston St.) has reopened under new ownership.
There is a sign out front advertising renovations, but when I walked by last week, I didn't notice anything drastically different.
I'll get a photo up as soon as I can.

I've been The Baltimore Sun's nightlife and local entertainment reporter for a couple years, and it's surprising how much the scene has grown in that time. Most of Baltimore's bars and clubs are unpretentious places with fairly cheap drinks and plenty of character. I like dancing and think this city needs more clubs, but nothing beats having a cold, locally brewed beer with friends in a comfortably full corner bar.

I saw they opened up for St. Patrick's Day and then closed again right after that.
Walking by, I saw nothing new.
I can't even begin to tell you how many times that place has closed and reopened.

Was there this weekend...they are back up and running under the "old" management. The ownership had leased it out to a different MGMT team. Used to be the happening place before they built the townhomes in front and cut out the view.

Yeah, they keep trying to sell it, but for 1.3 mil, forggedahaboutit, Or you can go up the street and buy the red house tavern for just under a mil.

Luke and Lester Reeder (the original owners) have renovated and reorganized the Gin Mill. It is open and about 80% done. Parking down there will always be a problem. They opened St. Patrick's to make the 90 day liquor licence rule (keeping it in effect.) They have big plans for the bar and seem excited to be back in the game. Always a fun place to grab a beer.
