No sandwiches at Nutty's Pub

There is a meat slicer behind the bar at Nutty's Pub in Hampden.

But in classic Baltimore style, the place doesn't serve sandwiches.

So why is it there? Beats me.

I couldn't get a straight answer from the bartender when I was there Saturday night.

But I believe I was sitting next to the owner, who said he wished they served sandwiches because his stomach was empty and he had to order a pizza.

So maybe they'll start serving sandwiches sometime soon.

They have the equipment, after all.

I believe it's a health department regulation thing.

I know that during the Summer, they tote the meat slicer out in front, fire up a portable pit, and sell Pit Beef/Turkey/Ham. Makes the neighborhood smell good!
