The Gin Mill closes

Drove by the Gin Mill on Boston Street this past weekend, and the streetfront windows were papered over.

Looks like the bar will have a new set of owners in the near future.

It's changed hands a few times in the past few years.

I wonder why. I know their ladies nights on Wednesday nights used to be really popular.

Nobody can seem to run the place right.

I belive its downfall is that it is between Fells and Canton. Canton people think its too far, and Fells people think the same.

Did you ask them? How about doing a little reporting? I was driving on Boston Street 2 weeks ago and noticed the place was closed. I could have written the same article and probably added more information to it. More good work from The Sun!

I find this area very informative for what it is....
it's a BLOG Mike, lighten up!

I agree with Mike! C'mon Sam! Get down to probate and start pulling records! I don't care about your "blog" all i want it news!!!! I thought the Sun was a "newspaper"!
PS: i think Mike got lost on his way to the MOM thread on the forums

I'm going to pile on.

First the window story now this? Get off your duff and report some news, hippie! It's all part of the Sun's liberal agenda. Disgusting.

I'll be over at Roch Around the Clock until this mess sorts itself out.

Don't tell me you've dragged poor Roch into all of this? Didn't he get lost in his own pressbox?

Erroneous, bryanintimonium...

He's got a two day head start on you, which is more than he needs. Roch's got friends in every town and village from here to Fort Lauderdale. He speaks a dozen languages, knows every local custom, he'll blend in, disappear, you'll never see him again. With any luck, he's in Spring Training already.

What the heck were we talking about again? Oh yeah, Sam, stay out of my booze.

... hiccup ...

JTK good line, i believe it was from Indiana Jones?

I think it is painfully obvious I have no original thoughts.

Darn TV, you've ruined my imagination, just like you've ruined my ability to -- to, um...uh...oh well.

About Sam Sessa
I've been The Baltimore Sun's nightlife and local entertainment reporter for a couple years, and it's surprising how much the scene has grown in that time. Most of Baltimore's bars and clubs are unpretentious places with fairly cheap drinks and plenty of character. I like dancing and think this city needs more clubs, but nothing beats having a cold, locally brewed beer with friends in a comfortably full corner bar.
