The eternal question.
If you're like me, you try to come up with something new and interesting pretty often.
Here's a new Web site that can help. It's called Localist, and has a huge database of Baltimore and Washington events, listed by day and neighborhood.
You can sign up to be a user, and rate the events and meet other people in different social networks.
Erik Maza is a features reporter at the Baltimore Sun. He writes for several sections of the Sun paper and contributes weekly columns on music and nightlife. He also writes and edits the Midnight Sun blog. He often covers entertainment, business, and the business of entertainment. Occasionally, he writes about Four Loko, The Block, the liquor board, and those who practice "simulated sex with a potted palm tree." Before The Sun, he was a reporter at the Miami New Times. I'm one of the founders of Localist. We're always looking for new events and venues to post.
If you run a venue, or are hosting an event, post it on Localist. Businesses and performers can create profiles as well.
If you're just trying to find out where to go this Friday, check http://baltimore.localist.com to see where everyone else is going (so you can steer clear!)
