'Bongs' at Huckas
If you've ever been to Huckas on Boston Street, you know why sports bars and hookah bars don't mix.
We went there once, and a couple guys were smoking hookahs in the back by some comfy leather couches.
We claimed the couches and were about to look at the hookah list when one of the guys said something like:
"You guys gotta try one of these BONGS, man."
He went on about how they had bongs in different flavors, and even bought us one.
I think that was before he realized the girls in our group had boyfriends.
The rest of Huckas just feels out of place. It's huge, and feels cavernous.
And the service is unreasonably slow -- even for Baltimore.
So my advice: If you want to go to a sports bar, go to a sports bar. If you want to go to a hookah bar, go to a hookah bar.
Just don't go to Huckas. It's the worst of both worlds.

I went there once--for about 5 minutes. It seemed a little seedy there too!

Huckas is a great place to go after a BSSC game with your team. There is plenty of room and games like beer pong and flip-cup are encouraged.

i agree with the bssc dude. huckas has its own place and times. you'll know if you're there during yours. if not, try the other level. they can be drastically different. that said, i'm no longer going there for sunday football. it got too ghetto for my female friends.

The neighborhood association has been trying to get Hucka's shut down for months and Councilman Jim Kraft has gotten involved.
Over the summer, several Hucka's patrons thought they'd commemorate closing time one night by shooting at each other in the parking lot of the high-rent townhomes across Boston Street from the bar.
Charming place, Hucka's!

I agree Hookah bars need to be at a relaxed setting. Sport bars conflict with the atmosphere of smoking hookah.

This place is in the wrong part of town. The neighborhood will not take it. You need the support of your neighbors to survive.

Bongs are meant for leisurely smoking when you are alone. If you are hanging out with friends and on a roar, then I won't recommend them either. Good advice there from you.
