One World has wi-fi, coffee, and a bar, plus a pretty good vegetarian menu. There's usually a few Hopkins students studying in there.

the hustler club is pretty quiet during the week. So is the Haven Lounge. If they fail to titillate, City Cafe will do.

Laughing Pint in Highlandtown. Wi Fi, good beer and a chill crowd. I see people working after hours there. They don't serve food (yet) but you can bring in or order your own.

I think he can just sneak a flask into the library like the rest of my college friends did. Self-serve, so you don't have to tip, either.

Metropolitan in Federal Hill fits the bill perfectly, although even during the week it can get pretty packed due to their nightly specials.
