The next Fab Five Friday

This week, the topic is Best Dive Bar. I'm going to post my list on Friday, but I'm open to suggestions.

It's a tough topic. There are so many awesome little dives scattered around this city that a list of 10 would barely do them justice, and I only have five slots to fill.

I don't want this list to look anything like AOL City Guide's best of Baltimore dive bars, either. These have to be real dives that few people have heard about. I want the local Baltimorean's guide to dive bars, not the tourist's list.

Whatcha got for me?

BAR. on lancaster St. in Fells dude.
around the corner from Jimmy's.
Carol will never sell out. that place should get like the national Dive Bar award.

Butts N Bettys, Bar in Fells, Crossroads

definitely BAR in Fells Pt.

also American Harry's on Luzerne in Canton.

Swallow at the Hollow.

Several Dive bars that I frequent:

Pickled Parrot – Elliot street
-Cheap! Domestics used to be $2, but I just found they went up to $2.50. Laid back, not on the square.

Walt’s Inn – O’Donnell Street
Karaoke 7 days a week.

One Eyed Mike’s

Swallow at the Hallow – York Road
Best bar in Towson, even if it isn’t in Towson. Cheap beer and always nice people.

Probably the best dives bar are on Harford Road. One is the Harford House, north of Dead Freddies on Harford Road. 75 cent draft, cash only. Kinda of scary, but what the heck.
Some other goods ones on Harford are O’Donnells, the Emerald Tavern (great food) and I think it is call the Harford Tavern, which I believe has the smallest bar in the city.

Walts Inn (oddonnell)
growlers (?)
mt. royal tavern
dizzy izzies
club charles (reach i know)

Also, everyone talks about Swallow at the Hollow, but just down the road is Fields Tavern, even more divey, cheap, and friendly.

Bar (fells pt)
Sport Cafe Lottery (clinton st)
Walts (o'donnell)
Fields Old Trail (york rd)
Mum's (fed hill)

didn't think of this until your Thursday post jiggered my memory: Sidebar!
