Friends of Wayman Tisdale stand in line for memorial

Karen Morrison was among the many in Tulsa, OK to go to a public viewing yesterday of Wayman Tisdale at Friendship Baptist Church, according to The Associated Press.

But she didn't want to go inside because she didn't want to shatter the memories of Tisdale, who she knew when she was a junior in high school.

"I want to remember that smile," Morrison sobbed as she talked to an Associated Press reporter. "That smile."

Tisdale, a former Oklahoma basketball star and popular jazz musician, died in his hometown last week after a long battle with cancer.

"My belief is he's resting," said Morrison.
