Yolanda Adams, Donnie McClurkin sing for Susan Taylor

Gospel artists Yolanda Adams and Donnie McClurkin were the headliners for a celebration of Susan Taylor's 37-years at Essence Magazine.

The private event, which took place last week, was sponsored by Oprah Winfrey and benefited Taylor's foundation, National CARES, a nonprofit for African-American mentoring organization.

Other guests included Michael Eric Dyson, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Roland S. Martin, Maurice DuBois, Donna Richardson, Malik Yoba, Allallah Shabazz, Melanie Campbell, the Rev. Al Sharpton, among others.
