Jonathan Nelson receives 8 Stellar nominations
Baltimore's Jonathan Nelson with Purpose have been nominated for 8 Stellar Awards.
Nelson, who attends Empowerment Temple, and the group have been nominated for Song of the Year for "My Name Is Victory,'' Group Duo of the Year for the Right Now Praise CD, Producer of the Year, Contemporary Group/Duo of the Year, Contemporary Male of the Year, Contemporary CD of the Year, Urban Inspirational Single/Performance of the Year, and Contemporary Choir of the Year.
Baltimore's own Jessica Greene, who late last year released her first CD The World, is also a Stellar Award nominee for Female Vocalist of the Year and New Artist. Greene is a member of Church of the Redeemed of The Lord (CRL).
CRL was also the host church for the live recording by Youthful Praise, featuring J.J. Hairston, of Exalted, which also received several nominations.
Other top nominees for the Stellar Awards, which will be held Jan. 17 at the Grande Ole Opry in Nashville, include Marvin Sapp, Deitrick Haddon and many others.
