John P. Kee to be honored next month
North Carolina gospel artist and pastor John P. Kee will be honored Nov. 1 during the Atlanta Gospel Superfest at the Atlanta Civic Center.
The event will be taped for national syndication on several cable networks, including The Trinity Broadcast Network. No date has been set for when it will air.
The night of praise and worship also features gospel artists Mary Mary, Doug & Melvin Williams, Kurt Carr, Hezekiah Walker, Beverly Crawford, Trin-i-tee 5:7, Coko (of SWV), Bryon Cage, Shekinah Glory, Steven Hurd, Jonathan Nelson, Kierra “Ki Ki” Sheard, Martha Munizzi and many more. Clifton Davis, Flex Alexander, Deleon Sheffield and Lexi will host the event.
Kee, who was in Baltimore last week for a concert, has had a great year. His most recent CD is Nothing But Worship, featuring New Life Community Choir, a group he's been singing with for many years.
The CD includes "Right Now Praise" and "Oh Lord Our God," which features gospel artist Fred Hammond.
Kee recently took over the church mortgage payments for the Rev. Timothy Wright, who is recovering from severe injuries he suffered during a tragic accident in July that took the lives of his wife and grandson. Wright is pastor of Grace Tabernacle Christian Center in Brooklyn.
Tickets for the Atlanta event, $17.50 to $42.50, can be purchased at ticketmaster.com.
