Donnie McClurkin to perform with Soulful Symphony

Gospel artist and radio host Donnie McClurkin will perform Friday and Saturday with the Soulful Symphony, which will open its 2008-2009 season in "Say Amen Somebody.''

McClurkin, who recorded a CD late last month, will sing some of his hits, including "Stand" and "We Fall Down" -- two songs that have become Christian anthems. No word on on when the CD will be released.

McClurkin and the symphony will perform twice in this series, on Friday night at the Music Center at Strathmore and Saturday at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. Both performances are at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20-$65. Go to ticketmaster.com.
