A Sunday message for Jennifer Hudson's family
The pastor of Christ Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church on Chicago’s West plans to deliver a message he hopes will help comfort the family.
"There needs to be some quiet coming together and working on the part of people of various faiths,” the Rev. Willie Doss told The Chicago Tribune. “We might be able to preach something, to speak something, to be visible in our communities more and not retreat.”
He added: “The people who have goodness in them, who strive for goodness, strive to believe that I am my brother’s keeper. We need to come together and stop fighting over stuff and start protecting people and protecting our children.”
Before her star began to rise, Hudson was a choir member at the Pleasant Gift Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago. She continues to sing gospel music. Her her self-titled CD includes a mix of genres, including gospel.
