Hezekiah Walker is Souled Out!

The first time Pastor Hezekiah Walker heard his mother play gospel music, it brought him to tears.

The young Walker watched as his mother played a song by the late gospel legend Mahalia Jackson.

Walker, along with a Gospel Music Channel executive, discussed the impact of gospel music and this month's celebration of Gospel Music Month.

"I think most of all it [gospel music] grabs the heart, it kind of soothes the soul and it lifts heavy burdens. And that's what it does. It kind of changes your mindset the way you think about things, everyday life,'' Walker says in the interview.

On that same video feed, Walker and his choir performed the title song from his new CD, Souled Out.

"Souled Out" is the first single release from the CD, which will be released in November.
