Gospel music has no color

September is Gospel Music Month, and there are plenty of events to attend across the U.S. in honor of the uplifting genre.

So is gospel music, founded by Thomas Dorsey, who is black, a black genre or white?

According to those attending an event earlier this month in Memphis, gospel has no color.
